How do my students access a trial?

Help students get access to a free limited webtext trial

At most of our schools, we offer students the option of a free limited trial so that they can begin work in the webtext immediately, even if they need extra time to purchase access.

No work is lost when a trial ends. Any work completed during the trial is saved and carried over when the student purchases access later.

Entering the trial

Schools with an LMS integration: Students will click on their webtext link in the school’s LMS and begin the registration process. On the payment screen, they will be given the option to choose a free limited trial, if available.

No LMS integration: Students will go to www.webtexts.com to begin the registration process and find their course. On the payment screen, they will be given the option to choose a free limited trial, if available.

During the trial

Most trials allow access to the first 3 chapters for 21 days. At the end of 21 days, or if students attempt to navigate to a later chapter while using a trial, they will be prompted to pay for the full subscription.


While in the trial, a banner will appear at the top of every page in the webtext letting the student know how many days are remaining in the trial. The student can click the link in the banner at any time to complete their purchase.

For students currently in a trial, features like “Get the App” and “Order a Print Book” will not appear in the Tools Menu until they have completed their purchase.

Purchasing the webtext

When students are ready to purchase access to the webtext, they can simply click on the link in the banner to complete their purchase. No work will be lost—all previous work will remain, even if the student doesn’t pay right away.
