Live Review activities in the Soomo video recorder allow students to present their speeches and receive feedback from their instructors and peers, both in real time and after the speech has ended.
Within the Live Review activity, each student will have their own session where they present their speech. These sessions are created by the instructor within the video recorder activity space for students to join when the time comes to present, whether the speeches are given in person, via Zoom, or through the webtext.

Locate the Live Review activity
You can find speech assignments by either navigating to the webtext page that contains the assignment or by selecting the page from Analytics.
On the webtext page, the main view of the Soomo video recorder will already be open. If you’d like to view the activity in Analytics, you’ll need to click View All Students’ Recordings on the assignment page to open the video recorder.

Create sessions for all students
In the main view of the Soomo video recorder, click Create Videos.
Note: This automatically creates Live Review sessions for students who have already visited a webtext page containing the Soomo video recorder, so we recommend waiting to click the Create Videos button until every student in the course has reached the first practice activity.
After you click the Create Videos button, you will see a Live Review session for each student. Note that it may take a moment for all of the sessions to appear in the video recorder.
When it’s time for the Live Review, both students and instructors will join the activity by selecting the desired session from the video recorder.
Create individual sessions
If you don’t see the Create Videos button in a Live Review activity, you will need to manually create sessions for individual students. This could be the case if:
Students joined the course after sessions were created for all students.
Students have already posted a video in that activity.
To create an individual session, first click the Start Activity button in the main view of the video recorder.
Click the X next to your name to remove it from the Participants list. Enter the student’s name and select it from the drop-down to add them as a Participant, then click Continue.
Continue through the prompts until you reach the Recording screen. From there, click Cancel in the top left.
You’ll automatically be taken back to the main view of the video recorder. There will now be a Live Review session for that student.
