Where is the article for LMS admins to use to set up the Soomo app in Canvas?

To get started linking your course in Canvas to the Soomo webtext, follow the steps below. If you have any questions along the way, please don’t hesitate to contact our LMS specialist at lms@soomolearning.com.

Connect your webtext to the course

Navigate to the Modules section of your course and click the + icon to add a new item to one of your modules.

In the drop-down menu, select External Tool, then scroll down in the list and select Soomo Learning Webtext Tool LTI 1.3.

Pro tip: In the external tool window, make sure to select Load in a new tab so that the webtext opens in a new tab for the students.

Now, select the webtext you’d like to link to.

Then click “choose this,” and then click to confirm the webtext selection.

After completing these steps, you’ll see the assignments populate in the Assignments section of your Canvas course shell, and you’ll see deep links to the webtext chapters populate in the modules. Both you and your students will be able to access the webtext via these deep links.

Move the webtext chapter links into the modules

For most schools, you can now move the deep links between modules if you’d like to have the week’s webtext link in the associated module. To do this, select the two rows of dots to the left of the link icon in the chapter link, then simply drag and drop the webtext chapter link to the module where it will be used.

Pro tip: Moving the generated deep links around will not break webtext access. In fact, it will help students more easily find the webtext while they are working through the week’s module!

That’s it! Happy linking!
