Who is this article for?

Where is the article for LMS admins to use to set up the Soomo Learning tool in Brightspace?

To get started linking your course in Brightspace to the Soomo webtext, follow the steps below. If you have any questions along the way, please don’t hesitate to contact our LMS specialist at

Connect your webtext to the course

Log in to Brightspace and access your course, then create (or navigate to) a module within which you would like to link to the webtext.

Click the Add Existing Activities drop-down and select Soomo Webtext Quicklink.

Depending on how the webtext you’re using will be delivered, you’ll see either a list of webtexts to choose from or a list of custom courses that Soomo has prepared for you. Select the course you’d like to link to and then confirm your selection.

You will now see deep links to the webtext for each chapter within the module as well as the matching grade items. Both you and your students will be able to access the webtext via these deep links.

Move the webtext chapter links into the modules

For most schools, you can now move the generated deep links between modules if you’d like to have the week’s webtext link in the associated module. To do this, use the context menu for the link you’d like to move and then select “Move to” in the drop-down.

Pro tip: Moving the generated deep links around will not break webtext access. In fact, it will help students more easily find the webtext while they are working through the week’s module!

From there you will see a list of available modules. Select the module you want to move the webtext chapter’s link to, and then select Move.

That’s it! Happy linking!
